History

We are excited to share with you a brief history and the vision of At His Feet Christian Center. We pray as you read, you will gain an understanding of why God called this local church into being and how faithful He has been to provide everything to establish it!

The Lord spoke to both Pastor Art and Angela Wooddell separately, within one hour of each other, to start this work. With the confirmation of each other's calling and the reassurance of the Holy Spirit, they began to seek the Lord for His timing.

On Sunday, October 14, 2001, the first service was held in the Wooddell's dining room with 12 in attendance. Just a few weeks later, the Lord gave us favor to rent space in a local commercial facility. The congregation grew slowly but steadily. By the spring of 2005, it was obvious that we need more room to grow.

After considering options of renting more space for quite a bit more in payment, the Lord directed Pastor Art to stop in at a local metal works shop that was for sale. It ended up being a divine appointment, as the owner of the buildings stopped by at the same time. Within a couple of weeks, the owner agreed to sell on our terms--or should we say "God's terms." The transformation from factory to church buildings began in September 2005 with a building fund of just over $3,000.00. God brought in the funds and provided the best for less, both in materials and hundreds of hours of volunteer labor from His people!

We wanted to share the "physical" journey of the church with you to help you see the faithful, mighty God we serve! Yes, we are a faith church! (Hebrews 11:6) Our faith is first in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Without His death, burial, and resurrection, life and every pursuit would be in vain. So we commit our lives here on earth and for all eternity into His hands. We also believe according to Jesus' words in (Mark 16:17-18):

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

No, we're not "snake handlers," nor do we purposely drink poison! But we stand in His promise to protect us in any dangerous situation, for greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. We have judged our God faithful, therefore we trust His Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit!

Because of His goodness, our hearts cry out to praise Him! We desire above all to worship Him because of who He is! He is worthy! We lift our voices, our hands, and our hearts to Him to signify our love and surrender to Him. However, our worship must not be contained in the walls of the church building. Instead, it should exude with every breath we take and everything we do, everywhere we are, at all times. (Psalm 34:1) At work, at play, in our homes, on the street, in the mall, at school, with those we love or all alone, may our lives glorify Him!

We belive God desires for His people to live in abundance of every good thing: health, wisdom, good works, financial prosperity, etc. (John 10:10) It is our goal to teach and preach the word, encourage the Body of Christ to be transformed into the reflection of Jesus, and to do the works He did and greater, according to His promise in John 14:12-14. This local church is called to be a place of restoration--taking back what the devil has stolen and renewing it to the glory of God, in Jesus' Name!

Pastor Art's experience in the United States Marine Corps has helped prepare him to ready the troops for the spiritual warfare in which we are engaged. With Jesus Christ as our Commander in Chief, we will win! We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11) Together, we will accomplish His will here on earth as it is in heaven!
